Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust pledge their support

On 28 September 2009, Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust used their Annual General Meeting to sign up to support to Time to Change, and pledged to tackle mental health stigma and discrimination.

The Time to Change campaign is doing really valuable work in battling the stigma associated with mental health,” said Jackie Daniel, the Trust Chief Executive.

It is something Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust is also extremely committed to so we saw the AGM as a great opportunity to show our support.

Derbyshire NHS Trust supports Time to Change

Derbyshire Mental Health Services NHS Trust Chief Executive Mike Shewan

We broke new ground in September 2009 when the Chief Executives of all five of the county’s NHS organisations joined forces to sign our pledge.

The signing was spearheaded by Derbyshire Mental Health Services NHS Trust Chief Executive Mike Shewan. He was joined by Derbyshire’s four other NHS Chief Executives, including Julie Acred, of Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; Prem Singh, of NHS Derby City PCT; Eric Morton, of Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and Derek Bray, of Derbyshire County PCT.

Mr Shewan said: “As the biggest employer in the county, the local NHS is committed to supporting this campaign – and encourage other businesses and organisations to follow our lead.
